The Jungle Grows Back

Just listened to Robert Kagan’s The Jungle Grows Back, which aside from being an astonishing tour through geo-politics (not an area I read much) impressed me with the strength of its argument for what we cannot see: the more peaceful world that we have had since WW2. It is so easy to see where the wars and the violence have been in the years since, so easy to see the US role in that violence and those wars. It is much harder to see how much less violent the world has been under the now waning US-backed order. What peace and restraint there has been is likely disappearing and we will only know the gifts of the passing order when it is gone.
